OVERVIEW
Are you looking to be part of a small, fast-growing, entrepreneurial company that is building something really cool and good for our society? PublicStuff is an innovative, user-generated, online start-up with a totally original take on the local government space. We have several high-profile advisors from the government and software industries and we are currently working to launch a beta site, mobile app and facebook app -- all of which are going to be awesome. We are looking for several entrepreneurial and analytical web developers to help us build the initial version of our website.

RESPONSIBILITIES
> Develop Saas Software modules
> Develop online website/portal
> Assist in development of mobile website
> Assist in development of mobile phone application
> Participate in technology oriented management decisions
EXPERIENCE
> Must have had experience working on agile software and programming development
> You must be able to provide code samples and URLs
> Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle of software projects
> Demonstrated experience in designing and building highly scalable software
SKILLS
> PHP, Ruby, Perl and Python experience. Extensive web development with an interpreted, scripting language. (3+ years)
> MySQL & database experience, including replication and clustering (3+ years)
> Ajax tools such as: YUI, JSON, MooTools, etc (2+ years)
> MVC Development Patterns
> A strong working knowledge of geographic and geo-location technologies
> Ability to hand-edit CSS and HTML
> Code versioning tools such as git and svn
> Experienced crafting complex, optimized SQL queries
> Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
> Aware of web standards, their purpose, benefits and appropriateness
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):
> Ability to guide the specification process in conjunction with a product developer
> Proven track record at identifying core functionalities versus nice-to-have functionality and working to prioritize work accordingly
> General system administration experience (installing packages and dependencies)
> Amazon Web Services (EC2 and S3) development experience is a plus
EDUCATION
> BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
> MS is desired, but not required (we value the work you`ve done more than your actual degree!)
COMPENSATION
We are reimbursing on a per module basis. The compensation is $50/module. Each module takes approximately one week to complete.
